Laemya Inn is a Dog friendly hotel in Hat Mae Ramphueng, Rayong. This 12km long beach in Rayong is lined with trees and food stalls. It’s 10 minutes (by scooter) to Ban Phe, and 25 minutes to Rayong Town. This is a quick review of the hotel!
We stopped here for a few nights whilst exploring the Rayong coast. It might be the time of year, but it’s very, very quiet here. We only saw a handful of other tourists, mainly residents from other parts of the country and many guest houses were shut. There are only a few shacks, tourist shops and hotels along the beach, and not much in the way of amenities. Perfect if you don’t want to be disturbed, but not so good if you want an apple or some cash. I’d say you definitely need you’re own transport here.
We found Laemya Inn on Agoda, and booked before we arrived (as we often have to due to the woofer). The building is a bright, happy yellow and from the 60’s (I’m guessing), and is located at the far East end of the beach. It’s run by a Thai lady and her daughters who were all really friendly and welcoming. At this end of the bay there are a couple of other hotels with restaurants, a pool table and and cute beach bar complete with boule pitch.
The hotel is 200 m from the sea, and as our room was on the forth floor with panoramic windows, we had a view over rooftops to the sea. It was as described apart from being much bigger than I expected! We had a kingsize bed with clean, crisp sheets, TV (thai channels only), fridge, a/c, table, chairs, wardrobe, en-suite bathroom (Thai wetroom style).
The hotel itself has a restaurant serving breakfast and simple Thai food, and reception can providea laundry service and scooter hire if required. I didn’t see any ATMs along this beach, so as mentioned, either pop to Ban Phe, or stock up before you arrive!
